Jesse Henry Tyre, age 69 of Chipley, passed away Monday, January 17, 2011 in the Bay Medical Center. Jesse was born, December 26, 1941 in Millville, Florida to the late Ervin and Lurene (Waller) Tyre. A life- long resident of Washington County, he was a 1959 graduate of Vernon High School and had retired as Master Chief (E8) from the U.S. Navy, where he had been a Navy diver. Jesse was a member of the Falling Waters Country Club, Wausau Masonic Lodge #39, F& AM, a member of Hadji Shrine Temple in Panama City, a member of the American Vets, the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) and the Washington County Bass Club. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his wife, Judy Annette Tyre. Survivors include: four sons, Darryl Wasson and wife Sandy of Chipley, Wes Wasson and wife Shirley of Geneva, Ala., Tom Wasson and wife Tonya of Sanderson, Fla. and Steven Tyre of Vernon, Fla.; two daughters, Stacy Phillips and husband David of Bethlehem, Fla., and Michele Gammons also of Bethlehem; one brother, Jerry Tyre and wife Linda of Chipley; two sisters, Joyce Caylor and husband Merle of Chipley and Janice Gilmore and husband J.C. Jr. of Chipley; sixteen grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends Wednesday, January 19, 2011 from 6 to 8 P.M. at Brown Funeral Home, Brickyard Road Chapel. Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 20, 2011 at 10:00 A.M. in the Brown Funeral Home, Brickyard Road Chapel, with the Rev. Teddy Joe Bias officiating. Interment will follow in Bonnett Pond Cemetery near Chipley.
