Jeanette Day, age 53, passed from this life Wednesday, April 30, 2014 at Fort Walton Rehabilitation Center. She was born in Orlando, FL on August 26, 1960 to George Washington and Betsy Jean (Benefield) Kornegay. Mrs. Day was a loving wife and mother. She is survived by her husband: Don Day of Mary Esther, FL; 2 daughters: Michelle Gardenier of Chipley, FL and Samantha Lamier of Clinton, MS, one brother; Rickey Kornegay of Wake Forrest, NC, 2 sisters; Jeanie Bowman of Siler City, NC and Sandy Hunter of Chipley, FL, step-mother; Bobbie Bavis, 2 step-brothers; Stanley Jordan and Roy Jordan, 2 step-sisters; Theresa Jordan and Benita Buchanan and 3 grandchildren; Austin Gardenier, Christopher Gardenier, and Olivia Lamier. Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday, May 3, 2014 at Brown Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ken Spivey officiating. Interment will follow in the New Orange Baptist Church Cemetery.
