Jean Ford Prater passed away at Twin Cities Hospital in Niceville, Florida on Veterans Day, November 11, 2014 at the age of 90.
Jean was born near Lindale, Texas on June 7, 1924 to Vaughn and Jewell Hamman Ford. She married Thomas Earl Prater on August 16, 1944 during the midst of World War II. She enjoyed life in Texas and lived most of it in College Station where Tom was employed at Texas A&M University. They moved to Chipley, Florida in 1997 to be near family.

Jean loved The Lord, her family, Israel and her many Christian friends in Texas, Indiana and Kentucky. She is survived by daughter Karen (Kati) Prater Trawick and her husband Ken, grandsons T.C. Trawick and his wife Angie and Matt Trawick and his wife Mandy. Jean's great-grandsons are Will Trawick, Jacob Trawick, Matthew Trawick and Mason Trawick.
Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Friday, November 14 at Brown Funeral Home in Chipley, Florida with grandson Rev T.C. Trawick officiating. Family will be happy to enjoy visiting with friends for one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Shiloh Baptist Church with Brown Funeral Home directing.
