James David Walters, 67 of Greenhead, was called to heaven from this life on June 20, 2025 at his residence.
He was born on April 22, 1958 in Panama City, Florida to George William Walters and Christale White (Pate). A lifelong resident of Southport and Greenhead ,FL. David was retired from working 40+ years in the Underground Utilities Field as a Heavy Equipment Operator/ Carpenter/Pulp Wooder, a master of many trades. He enjoyed his life living on the water in the Wages Pond Community for 20+ years, referred to as 'Mayor of the Pond' , who you would always find on the tractor, fishing, or tinkering around with anything outside as he had such a love for the outdoors. David also loved gardening, canning vegetables, and cooking for his family and friends. To know him was to love him. Always there to help anyone out, if he was ever called upon his answer was always I'm on the way, or we will get it taken care of, without hesitation. He was a man well known for all his knowledge and skills. He loved his family dearly and will be sorely missed by those who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers: Ira Walters, John Walters, and Timothy Walters.
He is survived by his children: Edward Walters wife (April) of Marianna, Florida, Alisha Walters of Greenhead, Florida; grandchildren: Destiny and Husband Julian Bearden , Valarie Hennion, JD, Elana and Karter; great grandchildren: Lyla and Cohen Bearden, and Lifelong friend Barbara Riley.
Family will announce his celebration of life at a later date.
Memorialization will be by cremation.
