James Thomas Rathel, age 62, passed from this life on Sunday, December 7, 2025, at his home in Panama City, Florida. He was born in Chipley, Florida, on November 2, 1963, to Quay and Sara Jo (Aycock) Rathel. James worked throughout his life as a dedicated Land Surveyor.

He is preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Martha Rathel.

James is survived by his son, Eric Woodham; his daughter, Rebecca Corbin; his sisters, Ann McCarthy and Cindy Aycock; and his grandchildren, Skylyr Corbin, Tristian Corbin, Jeremiah Corbin, and Isabella Corbin.

Memorialization will be by cremation, with Brown Funeral Home & Blue Lake Crematory of Chipley, Florida, in charge of arrangements.
