James Payne Sr., age 77 of Chipley, passed away Monday, July 5, 2010 in the Select Specialty Hospital in Panama City. Born, May 11, 1933 in Chipley to the late Joseph and Udell (Sasser) Payne, he had been a resident here for the past 24 years coming from Palm Harbor, Florida. He was a retired truck driver and was of Baptist Faith. Survivors include his wife of 53 years; Geraldine Payne of Chipley, three Sons; James Payne Jr. and his wife Renee of Chipley, David Payne of Chipley and Joe Payne and his wife Sue of Jellico, Tennessee, three Grandchildren and 3 Great Grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held Wednesday, July 7, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Brown Funeral Home, Main Street, with the Rev. Mike Orr officiating. Memorialization will be by cremation. Brown Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
