James Leon Curlee, age 77, passed from this life Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at Southeast Medical Center in Dothan, AL. He was born in Vernon, FL on December 7, 1937 to John Chester Curlee and Minnie Marie (Jones). James worked most of his life as a supervisor for a lumber company and was a life-long resident of Vernon, FL. His favorite hobbies were hunting and fishing. He is preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers Lemuel "Bo" Curlee and Royce Wilkins also two sisters Blondell Levins and Minnie Bell Harden. James is survived by his wife Hilda Sue Curlee of Vernon, FL, two sons Leon Curlee and wife Bonny Elizabeth of Vernon, FL and Paul Alton Curlee and wife Tawana of Vernon, FL. Two daughters Teri Yates and husband Wade of Gates, N.C. and Sandra K. Rogers and husband Allen of Wausau, FL., two brothers Ray Curlee and wife Judy of Waverly, FL and Charles Wilkins and wife Peggy of Lakeland, FL, 8 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, July 14, 2015 at New Hope Methodist Church in New Hope, FL. Interment will follow in the New Hope Methodist Cemetery. Visitation will be held 6 to 8:00 P.M., Monday, July 13, 2015 at Brown Funeral Home Chapel. Brown Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
