IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Jahazel
Sunbrock Finnefrock
February 25, 1939 – February 11, 2026
Jahazel Sunbrock, 86 of Pompano Beach, Florida, went home to be with the Lord on February 11, 2026 at her home.
Jahazel was born in 1939 and raised in Chipley, FL with an extended family in the area which was her heart during her school years and early married years, giving birth to 2 sons: Bobby Joe and Tommy.
Later she migrated to Dothan, AL finding employment in the entertainment business and subsequently, as the owner of a thriving county grocery store.
She was also a housewife with growing boys.
With her sons grown, Jahazel moved to Pompano Beach FL, purchasing a condo just across from the beach.
Later she met her current husband, Craig, while taking country line dancing / 2-step lessons. In the early days, during ordinary conversations over time, she recounting to him a number of different miracles God had wrought in her life. These true stories finally woke Craig up to God’s reality, resulting in his salvation at the age of 50 !
We had the pleasure of getting married underwater in Key Largo, FL, scuba diving together with a justice of the peace.
We loved to go dancing Friday nights when ever we could; else she would prepare a tasty meal to be consumed by candle light, which she cooked by taste.
Together, Jahazel and I learned to consistently think of the other’s needs at least as much or more than our own. Therefore it has been a wonderful, happy marriage of 34 years together, with the Lord’s help.
We have come back to this area many, many times over the years, as we have family now in Chipley, Dothan and S.C. They have always been important to us both. .
I and our close family will miss her terribly!
Even so, we know that she now is in that wonderful heavenly realm, all because she firmly believed that the Lord Jesus is actually God’s own son, and that He himself paid the penalty for all of our sins; a price none of us can pay.
Graveside funeral service will be held 2P.M. Saturday, February 21, 2026 at Glenwood Cemetery in Chipley, Florida with Pastor Debbie Williams officiating.
