Jacob Austin Joyner, age 11 of Chipley, passed away Wednesday, March 2, 2011 in the Doctor's Hospital in Augusta, Georgia, as a result of injuries sustained in a fire accident. Jacob was born February 14, 2000 in Panama City to Daryl and Caroline (Kirkland) Joyner. A life-long resident of Washington County, Jacob was a fifth grade student at Vernon Middle School, where he played football. He loved to hunt & fish as well as four wheeling. He cut grass for his church, the New Vision United Methodist Church in Greenhead. Survivors include; his parents, Daryl and Caroline Joyner of Chipley; paternal grandparents, Clifford and Corene Joyner of Chipley; maternal grandparents, Jerome and Gladys Kirkland of Panama City Beach; one brother, Justin Joyner of Chipley; one sister, Jade Joyner of Chipley; uncles and aunts, James Kirkland, Thomas Kirkland, Donnie Joyner, Drexel Joyner and his wife Cheryl and Belinda Kirkland. Funeral services will be held Sunday, March 6, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. at Brown Funeral Home, Brickyard Road Chapel with the Rev. Stephanie Cox and Rev. Ronnie Gene Hagan officiating. Interment will follow in Ferguson Cemetery in Wausau. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services.
