Dempsey Ivin Vickery, age 93 of Cottondale, FL passed from this life at his home surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, April 30, 2016. Ivin was born on December 13, 1922 to the late William and Mary Elizabeth (Pettis) Vickery in Washington County.

He has been a lifelong resident of the Jackson County area and has been attending Sapp Community Church.

Ivin is preceded in death by his wife Marie Vickery, three brothers, Wesley Vickery, Perlan Vickery, Russell Vickery, five sisters, Katie Land, Edith Waters, Beatrice Kent, Iris Bauldree, Doris Ward.

Survivors include, his wife Rhudine Vickery of Cottondale, FL, four sons, Kenneth Eugene Vickery and wife Marsha of Cottondale, FL Gerald Vickery and wife Joyce of Cottondale, FL, Donald Ray Vickery and wife Cathren of Cottondale, FL, Kelly Jackson of Tallahassee, FL, two daughters, Carolyn Watson and husband Chubby of Chipley, FL, Shirley Dicks of Mayo, FL, one brother, Earlie Vickery and wife Kathy of Marianna, FL, 16 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.

Family will receive friends for visitation on Sunday, May 1, 2016 from 5:00-7:00 P.M. at Sapp Community Church. Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 2, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. at Sapp Community Church with Reverend Robert Simmons and Reverend Dallas Pettis officiating. Interment will follow at the Cypress Creek Cemetery with Brown Funeral Home directing.
