Hillary J. Carroll, age 96 of Chipley, passed away Wednesday, May 18, 2011 in the Washington County Rehab and Nursing Center. Mr. Carroll was born July 14, 1914 in Troy, Alabama to the late W.F. and Era (Wilkes) Carroll. He had been a resident here since 1980, coming from Bartow, Florida. He was a farmer and member of the Gap Pond Free Will Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his wife, Mary Lucille Carroll. Survivors include;
four daughters, Bonnie Lou Puffer and husband Bill of Rock Falls, Illinois, Barbara Ann Yates of Dothan, Charlotte Marie Shores and husband Donnie of Cottondale, Judy Carroll Robinson and Husband Joe of Walnut Grove, Alabama; one sister, Juanita Groom of Callaway, Florida; eleven grandchildren; twenty nine great grandchildren; ten great great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 21, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at Brown Funeral Home, Main Street Chapel with the Rev. Ronnie Wright and Rev. Jerry Wilkes officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services. Interment will follow in Campbellton Baptist Church Cemetery.
