Gloria Faye Duncan, age 89, passed away peacefully on September 29, 2026 at Vitas Healthcare Hospice in Panama City, Florida. She was born January 15, 1937 in Cottondale, Florida to Rev. Roy and Lois Walters. She is survived by her brother, Leon Walters of Lynn Haven, Florida.
She graduated from Chipley High School in 1954 where she starred in basketball, volleyball, and softball and was chosen most athletic student her senior year. Her proudest accomplishment as an athlete was scoring forty points in a basketball game.
She is survived by her husband of 71 years, Gus Duncan with whom she shared many rich experiences in traveling and living in such places as Washington D.C., New York, Connecticut, Georgia, and Louisiana before returning in Florida. In retirement, they traveled and saw the world.
A devoted mother, she provided a loving home to three children: Tim Duncan, Deborah Owens and Jennifer Duncan Deutschman. She was happiest when she was with her 7 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. To them she was a much loved Mawmaw.
Faye’s funeral service will be held 3P.M. Sunday, October 4, 2026 at Brown Funeral Home Chapel with Don Scurlock and Tim Duncan officiating. Interment will follow in the Piney Grove Cemetery in Chipley, Florida. Visitation will be held 2 P.M. prior to the service.
