Gary E. Nelson "Frog", age 68 of Chipley, FL passed away Tuesday, April 08, 2014 at the Southeast Alabama Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. Gary was born May 25, 1945 in Holmes County, FL to the late Walter Brown and Louise P. Nelson of Chipley, FL. He is a lifelong resident of the Washington County area and worked for Burkett Cattle Company as a cattle manager (Cowboy). This was his lifelong passion that he thoroughly enjoyed, not just a job. Mr. Nelson is survived by his wife Mary Jane Nelson of Chipley, FL, two sons, Justin Nelson of Chipley and Shawn Nelson and wife Tonya of Chipley, FL, four grandchildren, Brandon Dupree, Miranda Cook, Katlyn Nelson, Danielle Nelson, one great grandson, Cooper Cook, one brother, Ronald B. Nelson and wife Mary Lou of Winter Park, FL, one nephew, Geoffrey Nelson wife and family. Family will receive friends for visitation Wednesday, April 9, 2014 from 6:00-8:00 P.M. at Brown Funeral Home, Brickyard Road Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, April 10, 2014 at Brown Funeral Home, Brickyard Road Chapel with Reverends Harry Kitchens, Mike Orr and Mil Cox officiating. Interment will follow at the Oakie Ridge Baptist Cemetery with Brown Funeral Home directing.
