Frank S. Russell, age 84 of Cottondale, passed away Monday, April 2, 2012 in Flowers Hospital in Dothan. Frank was born January 10, 1928 in Dixon, Kentucky to the late David and Lessie Bell (Nauls) Russell. He was a WWII veteran, having served in the U.S. Army. A retired machinist, he had been a resident of Cottondale since 1997, coming from St. Petersburg, Florida. He was a member of the V.F.W., a Mason, and a member of the Church Of God. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by a brother, Marlin Russell. Survivors include; his wife, Thelma Barnes Russell of Cottondale; one son, Stevens Russell of Holiday, Tenn.; one step-son, George Nelson of St. Petersburg; one step-daughter, Janie Nelson of St. Petersburg; one sister, Hilda Yates; seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren. The family will receive friends Friday, April 6, 2012 from 6 to 8 P.M. at Brown Funeral Home, Main Street Chapel. Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 7, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. at Brown Funeral Home, Main Street Chapel. Interment will follow in Alford City Cemetery.
