Franklin David Squires, age 77 of North Miami, Florida, passed away Monday, June 4, 2012 in the Delray Medical Center in Delray, Florida. Mr. Squires was born May 3, 1935 in Chipley, Florida to the late Roy H. and Pansy Mae (Fields) Squires. He had been a resident of the Miami area as well as Homosassa, Florida, most of his life. Mr. Squires was a retired electrician, working mainly in commercial construction. He was an avid hunter and was very active in the Everglades National Park Preservation. Outdoor World was his favorite place to visit. He was of Church of God Faith. Survivors include: one son, David Squires of Reno, Nevada; five daughters, Patricia Matthews of Miami, Linda Squires of Boca Raton, Florida, Janet West of Reno, Nevada, Christina Corey of Homosassa, Florida, and Cindy Defazio, also of Homosassa, Florida; one sister, Naomi Ruth Lynch of Brooksville, Fla.: thirteen grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 7, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. at the graveside in Poplar Head Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery.
