Evelyn Alice Myers-Lackey, age 77 of Chipley, passed away Sunday, February 12, in the Bay Medical Center in Panama City. Evelyn was born October 19, 1934 in Crystal Lake, Florida to the late James Perry and Alice (Finch) Reeder. She had been a resident of Washington County most of her life and was a former secretary for the West Florida Entomology Research Center. Evelyn was very active in community services including the American Red Cross and was a member of the Bonifay Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by: a son, Louis W. Myers, Jr. and a husband, Utah L. Lackey, and a sister Edith (Reeder) Clark-Walters, Brothers Joe Reeder, Oliver Reeder,Eddie Reeder and Sidney Morris. Survivors include; a son, James Clayton Myers of Chipley; three daughters. Sandra Myers of Chipley, Terry Myers of Vienna, Ohio and Lisa Myers of Fowler, Ohio; one brother, Doyle Morris of Chipley; two sisters, Mary Etta Williamson of Apalachicola and Shirley Hoffman of Greenhead, Fla.; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends Wednesday, February 15, 2012 from 5 to 7 P.M. at Brown Funeral Home, Main Street Chapel in Chipley. Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 16, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. at Bonifay Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints with Bishop John Gilbert officiating. Interment will follow in Gap Pond Cemetery. Brown Funeral Home of Chipley is in charge of the arrangements.
