Etta Mae Evans, age 88 of Santa Rosa Beach, Florida, passed away Saturday, September 22, 2012 in the Grand Blvd. Health & Rehab Center in Destin. Etta was born August 5, 1924 in Ebro, Florida to the late Sanford and Noma (Cooper) Haney. She had been a resident of Santa Rosa Beach for the past sixty three years, coming from DeFuniak Springs, Florida. Etta was a former restaurant owner in Panama City Beach and was a former lunchroom manager at Point Washington Elementary School. She is predeceased by three brothers, Cecil Haney, Alman Haney and Sanford Haney, Jr. Survivors include; her husband of 70 years, Wilbert Evans of Santa Rosa Beach, Fla.; one son, Jessie Wilbert Evans and wife Eloise of West Bay, Florida; two daughters, Gracie Mae Kincaid and husband Ray of Antlers, Oklahoma, Millie E. Rhodes and husband Bobby of Santa Rosa Beach, Florida; two brothers, Coy Haney of Geneva, Ala, and John Henry Haney of Bunker, Florida; five sisters, Hazel McManigal of Pensacola, Lois Harrell of Marianna, Nell Stafford of Panama City, Margaret Sanders of Pensacola and Ruby Byrd of Santa Rosa Beach; seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. The family will receive friends Tuesday, September 25, 2012 from 5 to 7 P.M. at Brown Funeral Home, Main Street Chapel. Funeral services will be at the graveside, Wednesday, September 26, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. in the New Bethel Cemetery near Hinson Cross Roads with the Rev. Leon Jenkins officiating.
