Ernest F. Sewell, age 93 of Vernon, FL passed from this life on Tuesday, February 9, 2016 at the Washington County Nursing and Rehab Center. He was born on December 14, 1922 in Altha, FL to the late John and Jenny (Porter) Sewell.
Ernest has been a resident of Vernon for the past 50 years coming from West Bay, FL. He and his late wife Clara were members of Bonnett Pond Church until they moved their membership to Live Oak Baptist Church to be closer to family.
Ernest is preceded in death by his wife, Clara Sewell, one brother, Ervin Sewell, six half-brothers, three half-sisters, two grandsons, Farren Sewell and Kenny Pippin, two son in laws, Aubrey Pippin and Carl Yates, one best friend, Peanut the Dog.
Survivors include, three sons, Glenn Sewell and wife Patti of Graceville, FL, Ernie Sewell and wife Cynthia of Southport, FL, Ricky Sewell and wife Susie of Vernon, FL, two daughters, Francis Reeder and husband Cecil of Vernon, FL, Jeanette Pippin of Greenhead, FL, eleven grandchildren, Bobby Sewell, Andy Pippin and wife Vickie, Randy Pippin and wife Amanda, Becky Owens and husband Larry, Tim Pippin, Kay McDonald and husband Dexter, Gary Sewell and wife Amanda, Erick Sewell and wife Micah, Wendy Lipham, Janie Yates, Coleman Yates, sixteen great grandchildren, Tyler, Justin, Caleb, Zachary, Austin, Hope, Lorelai, Katy, Amanda, Meghan, Truin, Ethan, Joshua, Marissa, Brianna and Brittany, two great great grandchildren, Samantha and Gracie, one sister in law, Betty Sewell, a special niece, Linda Gross and husband Bill and daughter Tonya Goelz, many nieces and nephews, and her special friends at Washington Nursing and Rehab center.
Family will receive friends for visitation on Thursday, February 11, 2016 at Live Oak Baptist Church of Vernon, FL starting at 10:00 A.M. Funeral service will follow at the church at 11:00 A.M. with Reverend Tim Lanham officiating. Interment will follow at Live Oak Cemetery with Brown Funeral Home directing.
