Emily Nepper Williams passed away June 25th, 2009 in Decatur, Alabama. She was the Daughter of the late Pauline and Jim Nepper.
Emily grew up in Chipley, Florida where her Dad, Jim Nepper was the L & N Depot agent, Honoree Mayor and Fire Chief of Chipley.
Emily graduated from Washington County High School in 1939 and served as the Vice-
President of her class. After high school she attended a Girls School, Sullins College in Virginia, Florida State University and the University of Alabama. Emily was named summer school Queen of 1940 at the University of Florida. She was a member of the John Hunt Pilot Club in Huntsville, Alabama, and a member of the Chipley Chatter Girls.
Emily was employed by J.B. Hill and Kay Jewelry. She is survived by her Son Ray Williams and Wife Elsie of Panama City, two Daughters; Cindy Shelton and Husband Wayne of Decatur, Alabama and Kim Adcock and her Husband Thomas of Altus, Oklahoma. Survivors also include 5 Grandchildren and 15 Great Grandchildren.
Emily will be buried with her family in Chipley, Florida. Services will be held in Chipley on Saturday, June 27, 2009. The family requests memorials be made to Hospice of the Valley, 240 Johnston St. S.E., Decatur, Alabama 35601. Brown Funeral Home of Chipley is in charge of the arrangements.
