Elouise "Meme" Kolmetz, age 78 of Chipley, passed away Friday, January 7, 2011 in Southeast Alabama Regional Medical Center in Dothan. Elouise, affectionately known as "Meme" by her granddaughter and great grandchildren, was born March 14, 1932 in Vernon, Florida to the late Wesley and Isabelle (Crofton) Smith. She was a life-long resident of Chipley and was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Chipley where she attended the Goodwill Sunday School Class. She had owned and operated a child care facility in Chipley for over 25 years, where she influenced many children's lives. Survivors include her husband, Wilton Kolmetz of Chipley; one son, Stanley Keith Kolmetz and wife Joanne of St. Augustine, Fla.; one daughter, Rhonda Creel and husband David of Chipley; one granddaughter, Leah Green and husband Marcus of Marianna; two great grandchildren, Marley Isabelle Green and John Ross Green of Marianna. The family will receive friends Sunday evening January 9, 2011 from 5 to 7 P.M. at Brown Funeral Home, Brickyard Road Chapel. Funeral services will be held Monday, January 10, 2011 at 10:00 A.M. in the First United Methodist Church in Chipley with the Rev. Jerry May and Rev. John King officiating. Interment will follow in Glenwood Cemetery in Chipley.
