Obituary

Elaine Lenora Tiller, 86 of Bonifay, Florida, went home to be with the Lord on October 7, 2026 at Southeast Health in Dothan, Alabama.

Elaine was born on January 26, 1940 in Bonifay, Florida to the late Earl Charlie Cook and Lucile Baxter Cook. A lifelong resident of the Florida Panhandle, Elaine was a woman of faith and a longtime member of Piney Grove Free Will Baptist Church before transferring over to Berean Baptist Church in Chipley. When her children were young she loved to sew and make their clothes for every occasion. Elaine cherished the camping trips with her family and going fishing with her husband, Darius. She was a wonderful cook and worked in the cafeteria at Vernon Elementary for over 9 years. Most of all she loved being a housewife and homemaker. She will be sorely missed by those who knew and loved her.

In addition to her parents, Elaine was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Darius Tiller; her siblings, Floyd Cook, Marie Bowen, Kenneth Cook, Linda Cook; and great grandchild, Ashley Dalton.

She is survived by her children, Janis Marshall and husband Samuel, Joan Dalton and husband Michael; brothers, Edward Cook and wife Jean, James Earl Cook and wife Melissa; sisters, Charline Dyson and husband Ken, Lillian Hearn and husband Neil, Shirley Walsingham and husband John; grandchildren, Terry Marshall, Trevor Marshall, Michelle Owens, Michael Owens; multiple great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and loved ones.

Funeral services will be held 11:00A.M. Monday, October 12, 2026 at Berean Baptist Church in Chipley, Florida, with Pastor Paul Hill and Pastor Jeremy Craft officiating. Interment will follow at Moss Hill Cemetery in Vernon, Florida.

The family will receive friends for visitation one hour prior to the service at the church.
