Edward J. Rush, age 86 of Chipley, passed away Monday, December 20, 2010 at his home. Mr. Rush was born December 9, 1924 in Connecticut to the late Hugh and Sarah (Troy) Rush. He was a WWII veteran having served in the U.S. Navy. He had been a resident of Chipley for the past 22 years, coming from Hialeah, Florida, and was a retired mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service. Mr. Rush was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church in Chipley and a member of the Retired postal employees, the council on aging and American Association of Retired People. Survivors include; one son, Edward Rush and wife Dulce of Tallahassee; one sister, Margaret Garrison of Greenville, South Carolina; two grandchildren, Eric and Daniel Rush. Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 23, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. in the St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church with Father George Sammut officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Sunnyhills. Brown Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
