Edna Myrl Pettis, age 76 of Chipley, passed away Tuesday, April 12, 2011 in the Northwest Florida Community Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. Edna was born December 20, 1934 in Chipley to the late Eddie and Ruth Elizabeth (Johnson) Usery. A former employee at the lunch room at Kate Smith Elementary School in Chipley, she was a member of the Grace Assembly at Chipley Church. She is predeceased by a brother, Donald Eugene Usery and a sister, Zelda Rhodes. Survivors include; four sons, Dennis Finch and wife Terri of Ocala, Fla., Donald Finch and wife Desiree of Chipley, David Pettis and wife Cindy of Chipley and Danny Pettis and wife Teresa of Sneads, Fla.; one daughter, Joyce Carmichael of Chipley; two sisters, Ruth Thomas of Chipley and Edna Pearl Chestnut of Chipley; seventeen grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening, April 13, 2011 from 5 to 7 P.M. at Grace Assembly at Chipley Church. Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 14, 2011 at 10 A.M. in the Grace Assembly at Chipley Church with the Rev. Dallas Pettis and Rev. Juno Douglas officiating. Interment will follow in Glenwood Cemetery in Chipley. Pallbearers are; David T. Pettis, Jr., Craig Johnson, Theodore Baxter, Brett Aufdencamp, Christian Aufdencamp, Tyler Poole and John Pettis.
