Edna (Helen) Barnes, 58 of Cottondale, died Thursday, August 23, 2012 at her residence. She was born February 28, 1954 in Bonifay, Florida to Jett Barnes and Nellie (Crooms) Barnes. Survivors include two brothers; John Marion Barnes of Clearwater, Florida, George Barnes of Cottondale, Florida and five sisters; Katie Sullivan of Cottondale, Florida, Thelma Russell of Cottondale, Florida, Betty Clark of Monticello, Florida, Emma Barnes of Cottondale, Florida and Eloise Potter of Clearwater, Florida. Family will receive friends at Brown Funeral Home Main Street Chapel, in Chipley, from 5to 7 P.M. Sunday evening. Funeral services will be held Monday, August 27, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. at Assembly of God Church in Alford, Florida with Reverend Charles Hughes officiating. Interment will follow at Salem Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery with Brown Funeral Home directing.
