Edgar Shelton Searcy passed from this life Thursday, February 3, 2022 at his home. He was born in Chipley, Florida on May 16, 1938 to Edgar Lloyd and Clearsey (Pate) Searcy. Edgar retired from the Army after 22 years of service. He also was a Crop Duster, a Policeman and a Scuba Diver.

Edgar is preceded in death by his parents, his Son; Jimmy Hancock, his daughter; Debbie Plante, his brother; Elton Lloyd Searcy and his sister; Mertice Margin Mosley. He is survived by his wife of 25 years; Mary (Sowell) Searcy, his sons; Dwayne Searcy and John Searcy, his daughter; Rene Sharp, his grandchildren; Tracy Kyser, Kali Carr, Tonya Phillips, Shawndra Holley, Jason Hancock, April Sjoken, Amanda Roberts, Brittney, Joy, Kimberly, Dustin and Johnathan, many great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren and the spouses of all the family members.

Funeral service for Edgar will be held 2:00P.M., Monday, February 7, 2022 at Brown Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ernie Dupree officiating. Interment will follow in the Glenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
