Earl T. Evans Sr., age 80 of Vernon, passed away Friday, November 12, 2010 at his home. Mr. Evans was born December 17, 1929 in Hartford, Kentucky to the late Thomas and Sylvia (Johnson) Evans. He had retired from the U.S. Army after serving in the Korean Conflict and Vietnam. Mr. Evans had been a resident of Vernon since 1987 and was a member of the Live Oak Baptist Church in Miller's Ferry as well as the Vernon Masonic Lodge. In addition to his Parents, he is predeceased by a Son; Earl Evans Jr., two Brothers; William and Ervin Evans and a Sister; Dorothy McKenny. Survivors include his wife of 57 years; Mildred Evans of Vernon, three Sons; Gregory Evans of Vernon, Richard Evans and wife Lisa of Clarksville, Indiana, Earl Evans III and wife Sara of Lynn Haven, Florida, two Daughters; Lee Ann Church and Husband Mike of Brandenburg, Ky, and Annette Evans of Vernon, 15 Grandchildren and 13 Great Grandchildren. The family will receive friends at Brown Funeral Home, Main Street Chapel Saturday, November 13th from 6 to 8 P.M. Funeral services will be held Sunday, November 14th at 2:00 P.M. in the Live Oak Baptist Church with the Rev. Tim Lanham officiating. Interment will follow in Live Oak Baptist Church Cemetery.
