Theron Dow Gilmore, 73 and born July 24, 1941, passed away peacefully at his home on November 13, 2014. Dow was born in Dothan, Alabama to Oneida McFatter and K.P. Gilmore. Dow grew up and attended school in Chipley, Florida. He attended college at the University of Florida and graduated from the College of Pharmacy. He was a member of Kappa Alpha Order Fraternity. Upon graduation he worked with Martha Northcutt Lowe at Northcutt Drug Store in Chipley. In 1972 he joined with Lanny C. King and father, Clyde B. King (dec.) to form Kings Discount Drugs, Inc. in Chipley. They formed a partnership venture lasting until Dow's death. Their most well known and successful venture was a drug/hunting/fishing store know as King's Discount Drugs. To this day their hunting and fishing trophies are on the walls of the new King's Drugs owned by William Steverson. Dow was an avid outdoorsman, fishing and hunting at every chance. He was predeceased by his parents, Oneida McFatter Gilmore and K.P. Gilmore of Chipley. He is survived by his wife Margaret Grant Gilmore, daughters Kimberly Gilmore Gay (Brian), Leanne Gilmore Pedraja (John), son Dr. Michael Gilmore (Laura), grandchildren Makinley and Brantley Gay, Madison and Grant Gilmore and Jilian Pedraja. Dow is also survived by his sister Kae Gilmore Lakenan (Bill), brother in law Charles R. Grant (Jean) and father in law Dr. Wesley Grace. Memorial service will be held Wednesday, November 19th at the John Wesley Fellowship Hall, First Methodist Church in Chipley, Florida. Family visitation begins at 2:00 pm and services at 3:00 pm cst in the John Wesley Bldg.
