Obituary

Ms. Dorothy Denise "Dee" Temples, 53, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on November 17, 2013 at her home in Chipley following a short battle with cancer. Dee was a lifelong resident of Chipley and worked as a Food Safety Consultant and Crisis Management Advisor where she received several certificates and awards and had a huge impact on everyone she me. She was not only good at her job, but enjoyed it as well. She never missed an opportunity to tell people about the love of her Lord and how much He had done for her especially during her illness. Among other hobbies, Dee loved to "drown a worm" every chance she got and more importantly, absolutely loved her grandchildren with all of her heart. Dee has left a wonderful legacy of love for her family to follow and there will be a big hole left in the hearts of everyone that loved her. Dee is preceded in death by her loving father, Charles Q. Temples; grandparents; William and Ruby Stevenson and Quincy and Gertrude Temples. She is survived by: her mother, Mary Temples of Chipley; her two "boys", Jason Curry (Brandi) of Chipley and Shannon Curry (LeAnn) of Bonifay; a sister, Laura Rehberg (Perry) of Cottondale; brothers, Charles (Charlene) of Tallahassee and David (Patricia) of Dothan; Uncles, James David Ellis (Joyce) of Lake City and W. Calvin Stevenson (Joyce) of Vernon; grandchildren, Madison, Wesley, Brason, Maddie, Mika, Ava and Gavin; six nephews and two nieces. A celebration of Dee's life will be held on Wednesday, November 20, 2013 at 10 A.M. at the First Baptist Church of Chipley with Pastor David Temples officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the beginning of the service. In lieu of flowers, the family ask the contributions be sent in Dee's memory to Marianna Covenant Hospice, 4215 Kelson Ave. Suite E., Marianna, Florida 32446 or to Westwood Presbyterian Church Missions Fund, 5480 W. Main St. Dothan, Ala. 36305. The family would also like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Covenant Hospice, staff of CCU at Southeast Medical Center and all of the friends that have shown us love and compassion during these difficult weeks.
