Donnie D.V. "Tex" Glass, age 92 of Chipley, FL passed from this life on Saturday, February 15, 2025 at his home.  He was born on July 22, 1932 in Campbellton, FL to the late Charlie Martin Glass and Perlay (Hardy) Glass.

Tex was a painter/carpenter for over seventy years who worked all over the continental United States. He taught the trade to his three youngest sons who worked with him during different projects over the years. He had a lifelong love of animals which he passed on to his family. If he wasn't working out of town he was at home working in his yard either mowing, gardening, cutting wood, or making a renovation to the barn or house and with at least one dog by his side. His property has Alligator Creek running through it and if work was done and the weather was right you could find him laying in his lawn swing, reading a western or army book, a pipe in his mouth, a glass of sweet tea by his side with his dog laying nearby.

Along with his parents he is preceded in death by his loving wife, Irma Glass, one son, Rick Fowler, four brothers, Dewy Lee Glass, Charlie Frank Glass, Allie B. Glass, Johnnie D. Glass and one sister, Idelle Vernon.

He is survived by his four sons, Danny Glass of Woodridge, VA, Dennis Glass of Round Rock, TX, Jimmie Glass of Geneva, AL, Robbie Glass of Chipley, FL, three daughters, Brenda Glass of Greensboro, NC, Penny Glass Cartrette of Cerro Gordo, NC, Kathy Hethcox of Tallahassee, FL, twenty-two grandchildren and twenty-one great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends for Visitation on Wednesday, February 19, 2025 at Brown Funeral Home from 3:00-4:00 P.M.

Memorialization will be by cremation with Brown Funeral Home & Blue Lake Crematory of Chipley, FL in charge of arrangements.
