Donald Edward Cota, Sr., age 78 of Chipley, passed away Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at his home. Mr. Cota was born April 17, 1933 in Keene New Hampshire to the late Robert and Elizabeth (Howard) Cota. He had been a resident here since 1973, coming from Boston, Mass. Mr. Cota had served with the U.S. Army airborne during the Korean Conflict and had worked as a security guard for D.S.I. Sawmill. Survivors include: his wife, Kimmie Cota of Chipley; three sons, Donald Cota, Jr. and wife Jacqueline of Smithfield, North Carolina, John Cota of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Mark Cota of Chipley; two daughters, Christina Saul and husband Steven of Panama City, Denise Koppel and husband Dale of Marianna; one sister, Shirley Jane Cota of Tempe, Arizona; sixteen grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren. Memorial services will be announced later, Memorialization will be by cremation.
