Obituary

Delphine Everett, age 91 of Chipley, passed away Thursday, December 8, 2011 at her home. Mrs. Everett was born December 10, 1919 in Webb, Alabama to the late William M. and Jennie (Worrell) Floyd. A resident of Chipley most of her life, she was a retired Civil Engineer with the Florida Department of Transportation. Mrs. Everett had been very active with the Northwest Florida Community Hospital Auxiliary, The Council on Aging and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Chipley. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her husband of 42 years, Theron Everett, two sisters, Lola Virgin Gilbert and Lois Carr. Survivors include: one son, James Allen (Jimmy) Newton, Jr. and wife Yvonne of Warner Robins, Georgia; one Daughter, Amelia Ann Buchanan and husband Freddie of Chipley; four grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening, December 14, 2011 from 5 to 7 P.M. at Brown Funeral Home, Brickyard Road Chapel. Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 15, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. at First Baptist Church in Chipley with the Rev. Michael Orr and Elder Carrie Works officiating. Interment will follow in Glenwood Cemetery in Chipley. The family suggests those wishing to do so, make contributions to Gideons International, P.O.
