Ira David Young, age 84 of Bonifay, died Friday August 28, 2009 in Doctor's Memorial Hospital in Bonifay. He was born October 31st, 1924 in High Springs Florida to the late
Earl and Lela Young. He had served with the U. S. Army during WWII and the Korean Conflict and had been a resident of Chipley for the past 30 years coming from Perry, Florida. Mr. Young was a former meat cutter for 20 years with the Piggly Wiggly in Chipley and was a member of the Chipley Church of Christ. Survivors include his Wife; Dorothy Young of Bonifay, one Son: David and his Wife Sally Young of Niceville, Fla., one Daughter; Cindy Pettis of Bonifay, one Brother; Carl Young of Chipley, one Sister: Edna Smith of Tampa, Florida, three Grandchildren; Richard Young, Brittany Ashcroft and Cody G. Pettis and one Great Grandson; Morgan Ashcroft. Funeral services will be held Sunday, August 30th at 3:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Brown Funeral Home, Main St. with Mr. Wes Webb and Mr. Edward Prescott officiating. Interment will be in Glenwood Cemetery.
