Mr. David Kenneth Mitchell, age 69, of Vernon, went home to the Lord on May 1st, 2011 in his home in the presence of his loving wife Linda. He was born July 25th, 1941 in Wausau, FL to the late David J and Irene Jernigan Mitchell of the Hard Labor Creek Community. In addition to his parents, Mr. Mitchell is preceded in death by his brother Sam Mitchell. He is survived by his wife Linda Cook Mitchell, his daughter, Melinda Carroll Mitchell, two sons, Archie Wayne Mitchell and wife Becky, Kenny Ray Mitchell and wife Jenni. Six grandchildren; Justin Taylor, C.J. Mitchell, Zack, Lori, and Deanna Nesfeder, and Brady David Mitchell; two brothers, John Mitchell of Howard's Creek and Wilmer Gene Mitchell and wife Toogie of Chipley.
Funeral Services will be held at Brown Funeral Home Chapel on Brickyard Road Wednesday, May 4th, 2011, at 3:00 P.M with Brother Dallas Pettis officiating. Burial will follow at Bonnett Pond Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday, May 3, 2011 from 5 to 7 P.M. at Brown Funeral Home, Brickyard Road Chapel. Pall Bearers are Justin Taylor, Zack Nesfeder, Ed Haddock, Jimmy Cook, Chris Tyre, and William (Chubby) Watson. Friends and family may sign the online register at www.brownfh.net.
