David Lynn Martin, 74, of Vernon, Florida, passed away on December 30, 2025, at his home, surrounded by his family.

David was born on August 13, 1951, in Exeter, California, to Potter and Velma Esther (Frank) Martin. A resident of Florida for the past 40 years, David embodied what it meant to be a true outdoorsman—whether it was hunting wild game, spearfishing in the Florida Keys, or simply mowing his grass. Most of all, he loved God and his family dearly, and he will be sorely missed by those who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Potter and Velma Esther Martin; and his brother, Mike Martin.

David is survived by his loving wife, Sarah L. Martin of Vernon, Florida; two sons: Gabe Martin (Heather Bullock) of Panama City Beach, Florida, and Walker Martin of Panama City Beach, Florida; step-son, Mark Bynum (Nancy) of Gastonia, North Carolina; two brothers: Jim Martin of Panama City Beach, Florida, and Chuck Martin of Panama City, Florida; his sister, Jorita Banter (David) of Huntington, Indiana; as well as numerous step-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other loved ones.

A Celebration of Life will be held on January 18, 2025, at 1:00 P.M. at New Hope Methodist Church in New Hope, FL. Memorialization will follow by cremation with Brown Funeral Home & Blue Lake Crematory of Chipley, FL, in charge of arrangements.
