Obituary

Mr. Daniel Webster Strickland went to be with the Lord on Monday, September 6, 2010 at age 87. He was a longtime resident of Ebro, Fla. and a member of Spring Valley Holiness Church. He was born in Ebro on September 23, 1922 to Reason and Della Cooper Strickland. Mr. Strickland was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Betty Sue Strickland, Son-In-Law Jerry Anderson, two Great Grandsons, Brenton and Trenton Hagan, his Parents and his Sisters and Brothers. Daniel leaves behind Daughter Brenda Anderson, Daughter Glenda Hunt and Husband Jerome, Son; Glen Strickland and Wife Terri, Daughter; Gaile Page and Husband Lamar, Son; Dorty Strickland and Wife Stacie. Mr. Strickland was blessed with eight Grandchildren, their spouses and seven Great Grandchildren. Daniel was "Papa". "Daddy" and "Uncle Daniel" to many more. Mr. Strickland was a retired longshoreman, Local 1482 and his hobby was keeping bees.
Funerals services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, September 9th, 2010 at Spring Valley Holiness Church with the Rev. Tim Evans, Rev. Ronnie Gene Hagan, Rev. Horace McCormick and Rev. Joel Glenn officiating. His final resting place will be at Ebro Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Spring Valley Holiness Church on Wednesday, September 8th, 2010 at 6:00 P.M. Pallbearers will be Jack Clements, Wade Moon, Charlie Allon, Gil Scott, Donald Ray Bruner and Marvin Benton. Honorary pallbearers will be Rex Suggs, MacArthur Seley, Thad Byrd and Joe Byrd. Brown Funeral Home of Chipley is in charge of the arrangements.
