Dakota Aaron Adams (Cody), 22, of Chipley, passed away on Saturday, April 11, as a result of an automobile accident in Jackson County. He was born February 3, 1987 in Dothan, Alabama, to John and the late Gail Adams. He lived in Chipley and attended Kate Smith and Roulhac Middle School. He was a 2005 honor graduate of Chipley High School where he was a member of the Chipley Tiger Baseball Team, Golf Team and member of the Key Club. Cody was an avid sportsman and loved the outdoors. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing and water sports. He attended Chipola College and worked with his parents at Chipley Auto Parts.
He was predeceased by his mother, Gail Adams, in 2004, and his grandfather, Roy Adams.
He is survived by his father, John Adams; sister, Kaitlin Adams; grandparents, Murle Adams and Arthur and Charlotte Dietrich; great grandmother, Frances Strickland; aunts and uncles: Tony and Barbara Adams, Shirley and Ralph Lott, Diane and Budd Timmons and Gordon and Lady Dietrich; cousins: Ashley and Aaron Havens, Chris Carter, Nicole and Tim Taylor, Hannah and Mark Brock, Emily Timmons, Rodman and Tara Lott, Christopher and Holly Dietrich, Mason Timmons, Nicholas Dietrich and Ben Lott. He will be greatly missed by many friends and close family members.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 14, from 6-9 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home Brickyard Road Chapel. Services will be held on Wednesday, April 15, at 3 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home Brickyard Road Chapel in Chipley with Rev. Michael Orr officiating. Burial will follow in the First Baptist Church Cemetery in Cottondale with Brown Funeral Home directing.
