Obituary

Curtis Edward Nelson, age 79 of Ozark, passed away Sunday, May 1, 2011 at his home. Mr. Nelson was born August 25, 1931 in Covington County, Alabama to the late Ora and Liddie Lee (Dunn) Nelson. He had retired from the U.S. Army and was a former investigator for the Federal Bureau of Investigation. He had been a resident of Ozark for the past 9 years, coming from North Carolina. He was a member of the Ozark Masonic Lodge and a member of the Ridge Crest Baptist Church in Ozark, Alabama. Survivors include; one brother, Ora Nelson Jr. (Bobby) and wife Sharon of Pace, Fla.; one sister, Dorothy Gott and husband Donald of Ozark, Alabama; nephew, Bobby Joe Nelson and wife Karen; extended family. Danny Howell, Lillie Dupuy and many more nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 4, 2011 at 10 A.M. at Brown Funeral Home, Main Street Chapel with the Rev. Jim Hill officiating. The family will receive friends from 9 to 10 A.M. before services. Interment will follow Thursday. May 5, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at Barrancas National Cemetery in Pensacola with full military honors. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to Community Hospice of Dale County Medical Center, 126 Hospital Ave., Ozark, Alabama 36360.
