Obituary

Clarence Dean, age 88 of Chipley, passed away Wednesday, May 11, 2011 in the Northwest Florida Community Hospital. Mr. Dean was born April 12, 1923 in Ponce DeLeon, Florida to the late Clarence E. and Alice (Stewart) Dean. A resident of northwest Florida since 1946, he was a WW II veteran, having served in the south pacific with the 87th Naval Construction. He had been employed at the paper mill in Panama City for 18 years and had been in the used furniture business. He was a member of the Springfield Community Church in Springfield, Florida. Survivors include; his wife, Doris Dean of Chipley; one son, Craig Dean and wife Stacey of Nashville, Tennessee; three daughters, Carolyn Carr and husband Martin of Panama City, Vicki Fallis and husband Gene of Panama City and Janet Sublett and husband Ray of Chipley; three sisters, Marie West and husband Bruce of Graceville, Wynette Huggins and husband Bobby of Lake City, Florida and Mary Alice Butler of Orlando, Florida; eleven grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 P.M. Friday evening, May 13, 2011 at Brown Funeral Home, Main Street Chapel. Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 14, 2011 at 10 A.M. at Brown Funeral Home, Main Street Chapel with the Rev. Donnie Jackson officiating. Interment will follow at 1:00 P.M. in the Greenwood Cemetery in Panama City.
