Charles Edward "Chuck" Smith, age 78, of Chipley passed from this life March 21, 2012. Chuck was born in Sargent, GA., on December 15, 1933 to the late Dwight and Clara Smith. He was a loving and caring husband, dad, "Papa", and friend. He loved the Lord Jesus Christ with all his heart and was a good servant and soul winner. Survivors include his wife, Mary L. Smith of Chipley, FL. His three children, Steve Smith of Mary Esther, FL., Susan Shirah of Mary Esther, FL. and Crystal Smith Gay and husband Danny of Apalachicola, FL. One sister, Janice C. Williams and husband Bob of Big Canoe, GA. Three grandchildren, Travis Shirah and wife Mendi of Gulf Breeze, FL., Emily and Hailey Gay of Apalachicola, FL. and two great grandchildren, Mason and Ethan Shirah, and a host of friends and loved ones. Pallbearers include: Kim Miller, Ricky Miller, Brent Miller, Beau Owen, Doug Owen, Michael Monk, Jonathan Bullard, Daniel Landrome, Wesley Bullard, Red Sizemore, Larry Ford and Karl Reihs. Services will be held 10:00 A.M. Saturday, March 24, 2012 at Brown Funeral Home Brickyard Road Chapel with the Reverend Tim Steel and Michael Monk officiating. Interment will follow at the Wachob Forrest Lawn Cemetery in Chipley, FL. with Brown Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be held from 6-8 P.M Friday, March 23, 2012 at the Brown Funeral Home Brickyard Road Chapel.
