Christine Carter, age 93, of Bascom, Florida, died Thursday, December 22, 2011 at her home. She was a resident of Bascom for 9 years coming from Chipley, Florida. She was born September 3, 1918 in Chipley, Florida to George Sowell and Nettie (Welch) Sowell. Mrs Christine was a homemaker and a member of Cypress Creek Community Church. She is predeceased by her husband Lloyd Carter and one son Charles Carter. Survivors include two sons; Eugene Carter and wife Phylis of Marianna, Florida, Ray Carter of Alford, Fl., three daughters; Faye Cook and husband Bobby of Bascom,Fl., Doris Hamilton and husband Richard of Grandridge, Fl., Virginia Lee and Husband Terry of Bonifay, Fl., six grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. The family will receive friends Friday, December 23, 2011 from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. at Brown Funeral Home, Brickyard Road Chapel. Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 24, 2011 at 10:00 A.M. at Brown Funeral Home, Brickyard Road Chapel with Reverend James Vickery and Gerald Vickery officiating.
