Chief Fish Eagle (Wilbert Evans) age 102, passed from this life Monday, October 20, 2014 at Grand Boulevard Health and Rehab Center in Miramar Beach, FL. He was born in Cherokee, North Carolina on January 30, 1912 to Jessie and Lela (Ganey) Evans. Wilbert was self-employed painter and has lived in Point Washington, FL her for the past 63 years coming from DeFuniak Springs, FL. He was Pentecostal by faith and a member of the North Creek Indians. Mr. Evans was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 70 years Etta Mae Evans, one daughter Wilburn Mae Evans, one brother Arthur Edward Evans and one sister Mellie Evans. He is survived by his son Jessie Wilbert Evans and wife Eloise of West Bay, FL, two daughters Mille Rhodes and Husband Bobby of Point Washington, FL and Gracie Mae Kincaid and husband Ray of Antlers, OK, 7 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Graveside services will be held 11:00 A.M., Thursday, October 23, 2014 at New Bethel Cemetery in Vernon, FL with the Rev. Leon Jenkins officiating. Visitation will be held 5 to 7 P.M., Wednesday, October 22, 2014 at Brown Funeral Home Chapel. Brown Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
