Obituary

Charles “Chuck” Walter Heath, 83, of Chipley, Florida went home to be with the Lord on February 2nd, 2026, at home with his loving family.

Chuck was born on January 14, 1943 in Highland park, Michigan, to the late James and Adilina Heath. Upon graduation from high school, he enlisted in the US Navy and was stationed at Cecil Field Naval Base in Jacksonville, Florida. His squadron did several Mediterranean Cruises aboard the USS Aircraft Carrier Shangri La, where he worked on several planes they carried, plus the flight deck. While in Jacksonville in 1966 he met the love of his life, Carolyn and they were married in 1967. After his time in the military, he obtained his A&P licenses in Detroit, Michigan. He was hired by Delta Airlines in 1970 and spent 30 years as a Delta Aircraft Mechanic. He and his family eventually made their home back in Jacksonville in 1973. After retiring, he and his wife, Carolyn, moved to Chipley.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, James Heath.

He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Carolyn Kowitz Heath: his son, Chris Heath, and his daughter Jenny Heath West (Chuck West): three granddaughters, Carleigh Pagella (Marcos Pagella), Cierra Broome (Matthew Broome), and Claire West. He is also survived by his sister, Connie Baginski (Edward Baginski): and nieces Paula Heath-Fisher, Nola Hanson, Connie Baginski, and Lisa Jakey.

A celebration of Life will be held at the First Presbyterian Church in Chipley, Florida Saturday, February 7th, 2026 at 11:00AM with visitation at 10:00 AM. All are welcome to attend.
