He was a man who loved Washington County and the people who live here. Charles Brock, Washington County Commissioner, died in his home on October 8, after a long battle with COPD.
He was 73 years old. Charles is preceded in death by his parents; Effie Lee Brock (Sheffield) and Joseph Edward Brock, his wife; Nora (Wilson) Brock and two brothers; Heywood Brock and Newton Brock.
He is survived by his 3 sons; Joey Brock, Eddie Brock and wife Debbie and Tommy Brock and wife Sally all of Vernon, FL. One daughter; Melissa Whitson and husband Kent of Chipley, FL. 3 sisters; Wanda Brock and husband Ronnie, Lilla Brown and husband Hueland and Donna Duty and husband Harry all of Vernon, FL, 10 grandchildren; Karsten Whitson, Kyndall Whitson, Casey Brock, Hunter Brock, Schyuler Brock, Britta Brock, Randell Brock, Loren Bush, Michael Scott, and Gary Corbin and 7 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 12, from 4:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. at the Vernon High School Auditorium. Memorial services will be held on Thursday, October 13, at 10:00 a.m. at the Vernon Community Center – located at the old VHS gymnasium. Charles will be buried at Ebenezer Baptist Church, following the service.
