Catherine L. (Swingley) Mathis, age 78, passed from this life Saturday, December 21, 2013 at her residence. She was born in Plant City, FL. on April 9, 1935 to Clenton D. and Catherine E. (Duncan) Swingley. Mrs. Mathis worked in the lunchroom at the Washington County Schools and was a member of the New Hope Methodist Church. She was lived her since 1972 coming from Fort Lauderdale, FL. Mrs. Mathis is survived by her husband of 60 years, Bill Mathis of Vernon, FL.; one son, Craig Mathis and wife Hyphen of Lakeland, FL.; two daughters, Jodi Reeves and husband Michael of Kentucky and Diana Zaiter and husband Bakhos of St. Augustine, FL.; one sister, Frances Hill of Bradenton, FL.; six grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 3:00 P.M. Sunday, December 22, 2013 at New Hope Methodist Church with the Rev. Bill Mathis and Rev. James Brooks officiating. Memorialization will be by cremation. Brown Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
