Carolyn Jean Janes Reeves Sasser, age 79, passed from this life on Saturday, September 25, 2021 at Northwest Florida Community Hospital surrounded by her family including children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Carolyn was born on October 30, 1941 in Memphis, Tennessee to Lester E. and F. Lurlene Janes. She made her home in Chipley with her loving companion Charley Hicks and their 3 dogs. She moved to Chipley in 1971, where early on she was a homemaker, school crossing guard, home extension agent, meals on wheels volunteer, and Watermelon Pageant Director. Most people knew her as owner of Carolyn's Fashions and Sasser Mobile Home Rentals.

Carolyn is predeceased by her parents, late husband Milton Sasser, former husband Charles R. Reeves, daughter Dianna Reeves Darden, and son in law Bobby W. Funderburk-II. She is survived by her loving companion Charley Hicks, sister Anita Stokes of Panama City, son Charles Warren Reeves and wife Minnie of Chipley, daughter Jacqueline Reeves Funderburk Witt and husband Bill of Chipley, 8 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, 2 nephews, 3 great nephews, several cousins, and friends.

Services are under the direction of Brown Funeral Home in Chipley. Visitation is set for Thursday, September 30, 2021 from 5:00-7:00 pm. Service will be held on Friday, October 1, 2021 at 10:00 am in the Chapel. Interment to follow in the Wachob-Forest Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the West Florida Baptist Association 1641 Brickyard Road Chipley, FL 32428 in her name supporting The Armstrong House Shelter.
