Carol N. Hood, age 70 of Chipley, passed away Friday, June 29, 2012 in the Shands Teaching Hospital in Gainesville, Florida. Carol was born December 10, 1941 in Panama City, Florida to the late Myles M. and Bertha Mae (Bush) Nelson. She was a homemaker and had been a resident of Chipley for the past 12 years, coming from Panama City. Survivors include; her husband, Colan Hood of Chipley; one son, Colan Bradley Hood and wife Melanie of Chipley; two daughters, Sherrie Walters and husband Bryan of Panama City, Telisa Stall and husband Chris of Youngstown, Fla.; one brother, Gerald Eugene Nelson of Panama City; one sister, Barbara Barry of Panama City; four grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 3, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. at Brown Funeral Home, Brickyard Road Chapel in Chipley with the Rev. Jason Lowery officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services. Interment will follow in Oakie Ridge Cemetery.
