Betty Jean Delaisse, age 83 of Chipley, passed away Saturday, July 31, 2010 at the Washington Rehab and Nursing Center in Chipley. She was born January 11, 1927 in St. Petersburg, Florida to the late Frazier and Virginia (McGuire) Clayton. Mrs. Delaisse was a former secretary with Holiday Inn, General Electric and Modern Trend Construction and had been a resident of Chipley for the past 9 years, coming from the Florida Keys. She was a member of the Sunnyhills Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her Husband; Amos Delaisse, a Daughter; Betty Jo Delaisse and a Sister; Charlotte Wiggins. Survivors include three Daughters; Darlene Buckbee and Husband George of Chipley, Donna Jean Mayfield and Husband Doug of Ft. Myers, Florida and Susan Gragg and husband Kevin also of Ft. Myers, one Sister; Dorothy Gooravin and husband Richard of Lake Placid, Florida, five Grandchildren and four Great Grandchildren. The family will receive friends Friday evening, August 6, from 6 to 8 P.M. at Brown Funeral Home, Main Street Chapel. Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 7, 2010 at 10:00 A.M. at Brown Funeral Home, Main Street Chapel with the Rev. Mike Swingle officiating. Cremation will follow.
