Betty L. (Corbin)Tharp, 75, of Alford, Fl, passed away Sunday, May 12, 2013, at Jackson Hospital in Marianna. She was born in Chipley, Fl on February 6, 1938, and lived here most of her life. She worked as a seamstress and homemaker. Mrs. Tharp was a member of Sapp Church.
Betty was preceded in death by her husbands, F.E. Corbin and Wadie Tharp; twin sons, Jeff and Martin Corbin; her father and mother, James Lewis and Mary E. Cox; sister, Vernell Sapp and brothers, Asa and Homer Matthews. Survivors include her son, Marvin E. Corbin of Alford, Fl; three brothers, Vernon Lewis, Henry Matthews and Ron Matthews; two sisters, Louise Hancock and Virginia Ruschmeier. Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Wednesday, May 15, 2013, at Brown Funeral Home Main Street Chapel with the Rev. Cloys Joiner officiating. Interment will follow in Salem Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery in Kynesville. Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the service.
