Belton "Flash" Ward went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday April 9, 2010. He was born in Lakeland, Florida on April 3, 1922. As a young boy his family had migrated to Gainesville, Florida where he would learn to wear the Ole Orange and Blue and became a lifelong Gator. He grew up to become a patriot of this country by serving for 22 years in the US Navy. After retiring from the Navy, he moved to Washington and worked for Boeing. He later decided to move back home where he went to work for long time friend Sonny Tillman where he managed Sonny's BBQ for many years. He and his wife Helen Rae Ward retired and moved to Panama City, Florida. He is survived by his daughter Furma Williamson, Husband Clark Williamson. Son Johnny Marshall Smith, Wife Jeana Smith. Grandson Furman Williamson, Wife Crystal Williamson. Great Grandchildren Kennedy Rae Williamson, and Leah Grace Williamson. The family will receive friends Monday, April 12, 2010, from 6 to 8 P.M. at Brown Funeral Home, Main Street Chapel. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 13, 2010 at 1:00 P.M. Eastern, at the graveside in Evergreen Cemetery in Gainesville, Florida, with the Rev. John Kennedy officiating. Brown Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
