Barry Kemper Jefferson, 66, passed away at his home from natural causes on Monday, August 10, 2026.

Originally of Birmingham AL and Keystone, AL, Barry was a strict and structured man who always provided well for his family. He was an accomplished and hard-working multi-skilled technician, having worked for Ford as a mechanic and factory worker, which sparked his deep love of classic cars - a lifelong favorite hobby alongside fishing and hunting. He later moved to Panama City Beach, FL and started his own businesses, West End Splicing, LLC and Spare Time Repairs, LLC, where he provided various handyman services from cabling to HVAC and more until his retirement in 2022, when he moved to Chipley to live in peace out in the country with his longtime partner, Trish, and their beloved pets. His last act of kindness was providing for the veterinary care of his beloved kitties.

Barry was proceeded in death by his parents, William Luke "Billy" Jefferson and Patricia Faye (Wilson) Jefferson, and his brother Clifford Alan Jefferson. He is survived by his ex-wife, Jill Vaughn and their son, Dakota Luke Jefferson of St. Petersburg, FL; his brother, Roger M. Jefferson (Vickie) and their daughter, Angela Gaskins and grandson, Hunter Gaskins; his sister, Susan G. Jefferson and her daughters, Carmen Latner (Brent) and Trisha Dobbs (Jamie), and her grandchildren, Colton Latner and Anna Lowery; ; his partner of 25 years, Patricia Owens and her two daughters, Shannon Kennett (Scott) of Eastpoint FL and Allison Dugas (Guy Garrett) of Pensacola, FL; his four step-grandchildren, Victor and Lillian Dugas-Clas of Panama City, FL, Lorelei Dugas-Aultman of Pensacola, FL, and Nicolas Mendez of Eastpoint, FL; and his 14 beloved cats.
